Overheard At The Resturant

Well technically I didnt overhear this, I was in on the conversation.

I was on the road, working in Arizona. We typically have a celebratory dinner after each project is completed so that includes a few extra drinks. We were well into the meal when one guy spoke about his wife being jealous and wernt wild about him traveling. Another guy suggested he needed an open marriage like his. Then he went into a decription of his marriage including how they made more money selling explicit photos of his wife online than at their regular jobs.

Being one always at a loss for words I sat there mouth agape. How can you do that? I definitely look at him differently now and I can imagine I will look at her in a more uncomfortable light now too. No not like that!!

Am I being a prude?

There are all types of marriages and they have a right to have an "open" one, but you also have a right to not hear all the gory details. He sounds like a jerk and I hope you don't have to work with him on a continues basis. You never know someone till you have a few drinks with em'...lol

ps. Nope...you are not a prude, just a respectful husband ~

Wait til wifie hears that he's been bragging to all his work buddies. Pretty soon he'll have no marriage...unless she's into that. : P

I don't want to hear anything about my friends' sex lives. Although, the nausea might help me to lose the weight I've been meaning to.

Ooooh, I know what you mean now!

How much extra money does she make exactly?

That is the strangest thing I've heard today. I would definitely find myself steering clear. There's a whole lot of information in this world that I just do not want to know.

Simply, at a Dallas law firm I used to work at there was a secretary who went into the "online bidness" . . . the firm paid a pretty nice salary to its secretaries. She quit the firm about 6 months after she opened the site. I saw her some time after that at a restaurant - she was dropping off a new Jag with the valet.

So yeah, I think there may be a few dollars in that kind of thing.

But at the total loss of dignity and self-worth. Not worth it in my book.

No.

No, not at all.

Seriously. Yes, everyone has the right to do what they want in the privacy oftheir homes, and then they have the right to sell/send anything that's legal to sell/send, as long as it's not hurting anyone else.

However, that does NOT mean they have the right to give you information that requires you gouge your mind's eye out.

I agree, Folks have a right to do most things in the privacy of their own home. I know stuff like that goes on, I'm country not unaware. He even had the right to talk about it. Not sure his wife would have been too happy about it. I could have turned a deaf ear but it was like watching the proverbial train wreck. I was just taken back a bit seeing how I see him and her at the office fairly regularly.
