Rah Rah Ree, Kick'em in the Knee, Rah Rah Rass,

We take Credit Cards and Cash.

Well,  Little A starts middle school this year. Sixth grade, Wow, time has gone by so fast. She recently had to have her shots and get a physical for sports. The nurse confirmed what I already knew but the wife denied, she is officially taller than her now.

Little A decided she wanted to go out for school Cheerleading. She went to a two day cheer camp during the summer and had a three day try out this week.

Thursday night she found out she made it, Friday morning we found out I may need a third job.

An email arrived congratulating her on her accomplishment with a schedule for uniform fitting and practice and a list of things she we will need to purchase. Monday only, cash or credit card. Then another list of fees that you can make payments on. In all fairness we knew it wern't going to be a cheap endevour. This aint our first Cheer'odeo, College girl cheered there too.  But WOW, things have changed(it's been ten years), I whined about it then too.

While no one item was really expensive(except maybe the shoes) the list is long.

Realllly long.

I do brakes, water pumps, oil changes, welding and appliances repair. I take Cheer bucks and pompoms.

Oh, could I interest you in an Entertainment Coupon book good for places around here only.

We are very proud of her.
Gooooooooo Team!!!

One of our grand daughters wanted to start some sort of competitive cheer leading and her mom hit us up for a little cash to help out.

When she looked at the final total---minus travel expenses---she enrolled the kid for DLS softball.

Softball is cheaper if you aint on a traveling team. None of my kids had the drive to do that. She played softball for 3 yrs and gave it up for gymnastics. Not sure if the schedule will allow her to Cheer and do gymnastics as well.

OH MAN!! I can so relate to this. It's only the beginning of chauffeuring, chaperoning, carting, safaris, and drama....

well, like me and the hubby say, "It's better than standing on a street corner"....lol

Just another reason I only allow the boys to do Basketball in the winter. Keeps them active and only costs shoes and initial fees.

Course, if one of them actually gets GOOD at it, I'm doomed.

And then there's Youngest's love of running... also the shoes, and the registration fees...

On second thought, I'm going broke just thinking about it.

Haha.

Congrats to her.

Juli, I hear that wallet sucking sound as well.

I am so glad that my son only played lacrosse! I know people whose kids are in football, wrestling, motocross! -- and it's just money thrown after money...

Sheesh. When did the chillens get to be so expensive?!

Congrats to Little A.

My condolences to you and your wife. LOL!

I have a co-worker whose daughter "dances" and she pays out something like $7,000 per year. Ouch!

Does that make you feel better?

My precious was a cheerleader....it was so expensive that I thought I would never finish paying for it. No matter what direction we turned. And then they went to state...
But my friend you must have a shrine table like I have, it has soothed the money lost. An entire table with expensive pictures, uniforms and a crown. Being a cheerleader gave the ultimate gift...Homecoming Queen. It might sting, but it is worth it.

Cheer'odeo. That's brilliant! Hey, it could be worse. She could want to do pageants. Yikes!

One of my best friends growing up was nuts with the cheerleading. Their school did all those fancy competitions like in that movie Bring It On. (I was always kind of confused, because in my high school the cheerleaders were a joke). But yeah she went through like 12 pairs of those white sneakers a year. Hopefully Little A's cheerleading bill doesn't run too high....

In answer to your comment... reptiles in my diet have included snakes and alligators. I thoroughly enjoy alligator. :D

Mich,I had cooter(snapping turtle) once. It was good. I've never had good alligator. It was too tuff to eat. Thanks for dropping by.

Hi SS Visiting from CC. Thanks for your comment and congrats on your new "related to a cheerleader" status. I you know anything about transmissions or plumbing and you do house calls, I can help you help fund your new expensive hobby. I don't have any alligator, but I do know where we can nab some snapping turtles. Do you know how to cook a snapping turtle? I have a blog post somewhere in 2011 or 12 about when my son told his teacher I was making a roast turtle for dinner. I thought he was kidding. Maybe it was a craving. Congrats to your daughter:-)
