I Finally Made It

This spring I had to work in St Louis. It was a quickie in, work 15 hrs and I was on the plane home by 7:00 AM so I really never saw the light of day, nevertheless more than just a glimpse of the Arch.

Over the last 2 weeks I have been working out of town in Indianapolis and St Louis.

The work went really smooth and we were able to shave 2 full shifts off the job.

That allowed me to fly home on Wednesday. I woke up a bit early so I decided to swing by the Gateway Arch on the way to the airport.

It was totally different than I expected. It was in the middle of a Beautiful green park, no buildings or signs, just the Arch standing majestic in the middle overlooking the river.

I wish I would have had time to ride to the top and also watch the history video but I had to be at the airport by 11:00.

I did get to walk thru the underground museum built under the Arch. The entrance is subsurface and you have to go thru a metal detector to enter.

I will prolly be heading back next spring so I hope to take a ride to the top.

Have any of you ever been there?

I went to the arch when I was 10 and I remember it being HUGE. Glad you finally got to see it!

Very nice pictures.

I've never been to the arch, but it looks amazing.

I have heard the city is filled with plenty of things to see and do. So have fun when you finally do get a chance to visit st. louis again.

Unfortunately, have never been there but definitely want to check it out now. Seems very cool.

Are those pictures from Google or did you actually take them? They're quite good.

Drove by it once but didn't have time to stop. St. Louis is an interesting city.

If nothing else I was determined to touch it. I took alot of pics in the museum that I didnt post. Most of the museum related to the westward expansion of the US more than it did the Arch.

In the past I used to build and repair cameras but could never take a decent pic with an SLR. But now with the miracle that is point and shoot half my pics are veiwable. So yes these are my pics.

I am available for Weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.

I have no desire to visit any city with winters more heinous than my own Ohio winters. :) Your pix tempt me, though. Love that top one!!

Dawn,

Come on now are St. Louis winters worse than Ohio? You sure?

Cool pictures! I have never been to any of those places but they look FABULOUS!

Wow, looks like you had more fun than I thought... I thought you were sitting in your hotel room, ordering room service and watching mindless T.V.

Glad you are home now...

Missed ya!

I live just outside St. Louis. It IS a great city. Most people don't realize there's more to do than go to the top.

Glad you ventured out! Lots to do in our fair city.
